Sherry Matthews enlisted us to develop designs for several spots. Given the kind of messaging, we created an illustration style with roots in poster design. Throughout the spots, we avoided outlines and 4 views to give every scene a linear, graphic look. Much of the character animation is limited, serving to bring pictures to life.
The Process
Sherry Matthews Group tapped Primal Screen to create a series of PSAs for the State of Texas’ SNAP program. Focusing on the health needs of Hispanic SNAP participants (and everyone), the design-driven spots feature a clean, graphic style with animation to match.

Educate Texas SNAP recipients about healthy diet and lifestyle with a series of animated PSAs.
Challenge
Use 2D animation to speak to a lot of viewers (in both Spanish and English), while avoiding being cartoony and child-like.
Result
The PSA series reached a wide audience eager for valuable insights. We were awarded a second round for a total of 23 shorts.
